Did you remember to put the drain plug back in???
If your engine oil light is on, it is clear you drained the engine of oil. But I/we are unsure that oil got BACK into the engine if the light is on and the dipstick is empty.
Could you have possibly put it in the transmission?? I am not familiar with your model either, but most tractors have a common transmission and rear end sump that is probabally around 8 gallons. Adding another gallon and a half is only a drop in the bucket and would NOT overfill it.
I too have never seen a sight glass on an engine. Let alone a sight glass AND a dipstick. The sight glass is probabally for the transmission???
