Andy, You didn't hijack this thread by any means !
In fact I've gotten a lot of useful things from it .
One is that I want a tree(or two) like the Inspector has at his place .

Do you have a photo of it taken from the outside?

No, buy I could try to get one tomorrow. The leaves are not very good looking right now, as it's getting that time of year.

Thats why I haven't joined y'all in Grove City for lunch /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Bob, you wouldn't happen to have summer and fall photos of those trees, would you?

No, but I can see what it looks like Saturday when the sun comes up and if it still has enough leaves on it, I'll snap a picture for you and post it. With the death of my F-I-L last week, I've been out of town for the funeral and then playing Mr Mom to my daughter while the lovely Mrs_Bob was out of town. . . I honestly haven't seen the tree in daylight hours for the past 2 weeks! But if it looks good, you'll get some pictures posted this weekend.

Andy I was out in the yard playing with my big dog and noticed the flood lights on the 2 small Bloodgoods, both are bright red (but both are only about waist high). So I went around the back of the house to where the roughly 15' tall tree is standing and it has lots of leaves left on it. It was totally dark so I don't know what the color is on that one (it has a totally different sun exposure than the smaller 2 so the color will likely be different) I'll snap a picture for you if I can get a shot in the afternoon sun.

AndyM, here is a night shot, taken under floodlight & with a flash from several feet above the tree. This is approximately a 15 year old Bloodgood maple. It is roughly 15+' tall and about 10' wide?

Andy,
In the shot you posted from inside, the picture was supossed to be of Buddy..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif but you liked the tree more.
But this is the tree again and if you look in the window, there's Buddy again. In the one you posted, he was waiting on Mrs. Inspector507. Now he wants to know where I went.

Inspector, Hey that is a beautiful tree (dog too). We have tried a few different trees here the last couple of years but pine and palm and oleander is about the only thing that has survived in this area.

Andy here is a picture of my large Bloodgood that I shot this afternoon. This is fall orange/red. The tree has probably lost 30% of its leaves, so it is not as full as it would be during the summer months.

Thanks for the photos, guys.
Bob, how far is that tree from your house? It looks like only a couple of feet in the photo.

We plan to put the Japanese Maple (or whatever we end up with) about 30 feet straight out from the front window. However, we also plan on some sort of small flowering tree around six to eight feet in diameter off the corner of the house. Any ideas?

I'll try to take a picture tomorrow of the area where I plan to do all of this...
It's easier to show it than to explain it. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
