Dumbest tractor uses?

   / Dumbest tractor uses? #31
I've had my tractor for a month or so, so I haven't had a chance to do anything really dumb yet. But I'll tell you the smartest thing I've done - started reading the forums on this website.

Hey DanielVT,

I agree! I've managed to learn:
To hit the house with my rear blade. I was in the process of pulling our cars out of the snow (both stuck in driveway) and watching the FEL .. making sure to avoid hitting cars... I dident even feel the house.. but I knew something was very wrong just by the expression on my Wife's face.

Hit a borrowed trailer's fenders with my front grill guard (both fenders of borrowed trailer.. gads??) when loading re-claimed asphalt for road. Learned that if you want to try to get the bucket dump over to one side ... load FROM THAT SIDE!

Snag the shelter logic "tent" sides twice with rear blade (dang that thing is wide!). I've learned that if I back in the shelter in LOW range I do much better.

Put giant ruts into the front yard when trying to push a stump out. In the process I broke the 'in ground' wire for the dog fence. <2 places> .. came home next day with message from our nice neighbor that he had seen our dog roaming the neighborhood. I learned that if there is a culvert up slope with running watter in it... it's probably quite SOFT down slope from it.

Hopefully I will not have to post anything more in ths thread!!

Carry on,
Phill

Yea - I've hit the deck on both of my houses with my backhoe, but didn't knock either down - thank gawd. I make an effort not to operate my machine anywhere close to the house - at least I try. My now-deceased tent enclosure got mangled at least 5 times courtesy of my FEL. It got it's revenge when it collapsed during a snow storm - man, what it a PITA to get my tractor out of that thing. My shed, has really taken more than it's share of abuse. I've clipped the siding a dozen times. I sheared off a corner of the roof with my FEL - had it nice and high to make it past...got distracted and *almost* made it. I also snagged the corner of the same shed with my equipment trailer and literally tore the entire front wall off of the building. THAT was one of the funniest things I have ever seen - and yes, it was all about the expression on my wife's face.

I've broken a few fence wires trying to disk too close, and banged the end of the barn with a blade, putting a nice little gash in the metal
I've also hit the end of the tractor shelter a couple of times by forgetting the disk is wider than the tractor

1/4 mile drive...the dogs and me take the tractor down to pick up the mail...just more convenient than getting in the truck, plus the dogs get a little exercise.

Somehow the rear bumper of my pick-up has two matching dents, one on each side, that BOTH match the outrigger feet on my hoe.

Lets see........Hit the top of the door way on my nieghbors cedar shed. Forgot about the ROPS and BOOM. Hit the wifes 4runner with the FEL bucket while plowing snow. Almost tipped over my 4wheeler when I was making a turn and the 4wheeler took a swipe from the loader and it ended up on 2 wheels. I've hit numerous trees, rubbing the bark off of them.
