Dump Action of 210 Loader

Gentleman,
I recently had a problem with my 210 loader in that it was not holding up, dumping slow, driving me crazy! I thought I had done all of the checks and found nothing wrong. I went through all of the checks again and lo and behold I found one of my hydraulic lines was not seated properly. There was no leak and the connecter was snapped shut. When I unhooked the lines I discovered this, when placed properly everything was fine. I was very happy that this turned out to be operater error. This is just a thought.

4x4trxfun,

Sorry if I took it in the wrong vein. I too am wondering if my machine operates differently than others on this forum. Could it be my SCV? Is it because of the lower pump volume? Is it a built in safety feature? The loader never "sticks" but is super slow when trying to do two motions at once -- in fact I've just given up -- it's much faster to do loader work by doing one operation followed by another ie raise the bucket, then dump it or vice-versa.

TommyP,

Are you talking about not seating at the hydraulic couplers? Or are you talking about someplace else?

My 460 loader on my 4710 does that stuff also. There is a place you can move your lever to that dumps the bucket pretty fast. And there is the place where the bucket will just sit there, not moving. It juts takes getting used to. Keep working at it, you'll get it.

At the couplers.
I'm sure its not the problem, but lots of problems seem to come back to the most simple solution.

I recently ran a friend's 4110 and was surprised to find that the loader would not raise while the bucket was curling and likewise. I found the same problem when attempting to lower and dump simultaneously. I'm expecting my new 4410 today and hope it doesn't have the same shortcoming. Does any one know if that is a problem with all Deere CUT loaders? I had a Deere 410C backhoe and 490D Excavator that both functioned properly.

green4710,

Can you lift and curl at the same time with your bigger rig? I got a little more seat time this weekend with the loader and for example, couldn't raise the booms while rolling the bucket forward to dump -- say over a pile. My 755 did this all day long. Is this normal?

Dave, I think that's quite common. At least it was on my Kubotas. The manual and a sticker on the loader upright showed to move the joystick in any direction except pulling it back and to the left simultaneously (curl the bucket back and raise the boom at the same time). You will not hurt anything doing that, but that's simply opening two valve simultaneously and therefore the one with the least resistance is the one that moves. If or when it reaches the limits of its travel, then the other will move. I didn't really see it as a problem, once I understood it and got accustomed to it.

I agree with those who say it is a matter of learning your controls. I have a 6400 with a 640 loader that has a hard time curling and lifting at the same time, so it is not merely the pump capacity. It has more do with what gets what flow and when. Just play around and you'll get used to it. I have already moved 30+yards of gravel with my 2210 and I'm getting better at it every time.

Well, I have to agree with my good friend from Northestern Ontario - I think it's just a matter of practice makes perfect. I did some work on it this weekend and was paying particular attention to lever position when dumping and it didn't "stick" once. I would agree with previous comments that dumping is, however, a pretty slow action. Keeping the RPMs higher does slightly alleviate that issue. Take care guys and thanks for all the feedback!!
