Dump Trailer

titan seems to have a decent reputation out this way.
I would go with the 6x12 & 8k w/leaf springs if the cost is within your budget.

You guys talk about China tires but do your research. Goodyear Marathons are now junk, have been since 2004 and a Carlisel is worse yet. Google it. I take care of about 75 trailers in my marine business of which 50 plus are tandems and the rest are tri axle and we have had the best luck with Green Ball Tow Masters. They are made in China and by far the best tire I have found. I probably have 10 sets a year put on and the price is very good, usually about $260 out the door mounted and balanced for 4 8 ply 15" tires.

That is funny because 3 of my 4 trailers have had Green Ball tires on them and they are CRAP... I bought 2 trailers around the same time a 14k dump and a 24' 14k enclosed and they had Bias on them. 7 of the 10 tires would not hold over 30 psi for over a month. These tires are F rated and 90 psi. Had all the tires replaced with radials I payed the difference. Then I was having random blow outs on both trailers. again the set of 10 was replaced with the G rated radials. This set of G's is rated 3750 lbs @ 110 psi and I have had 3 blow out. I had to pay to replace 1 of them and the other 2 were replaced under warranty. It has been a while and I havent pulled the trailers recently so all has been well, but I recently bought a single axel trailer that had Green Ball tires on it and one of them shreded on the interstate so I replaced both with goodyears no problems yet. I am not sure what tires the gooseneck has on it but I have had no problems in 3000 miles loaded heavy. I think all trailer tires are crap but I have had horrible experiences with the Green Ball Tow master tires. And their florida plant is about 35 min away.

In addition to the axles and springs, there is another consideration in dump trailers.

I looked at them about a year ago and what I found is that there are three grades of boxes for dump trailers:

Homeowner : bottom is 3 pieces of steel, welded together

Contractor : bottom is one piece of steel

Industrial : built for day-in day out use, one piece bottom and heavier grade.

What I did was when I bought my trailers is I would make them take off the Chinese crap and replace them with American made tires. It would only cost me ~$200-$300 more, but well worth the peace of mind. Seen too many problems with Chinese tires.

I never buy bias tires, radials only. Guess its just like one guy having bad luck with GM trucks and the next guy having great luck. Who knows. All I know is I can not keep a Goodyear or Carlisle on my trailers.

One thing I have found with trailers is that if your going to use it daily don't by the cheapest one out there. Same goes with tires(if you run max load and drive over 70mph you will have failures all the time).
I have been thinking about a dump and seen a PJ? the other day @ lowes and was very impressed and it seemed well built, it had 7k axles and was 14' long.

Joe,I have a bri-mar 6x12,along with my BX24.The tractor barely fits into it,if I had to I could make it work.I'm a big fan of this trailer,I pull it with my 03 f-250,@10k or more loaded it pulls nice thru the mountain roads.Got mine with the rear landscape ramp.Due to the low lift height of the tractor it works out well.Check out Kutz Farm equip,by far the best price around,I have no affilation with them, just real honest people.
