Thanks Mark, I was curious how much they cost. Not cheap, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Taylor Pittsburgh has introduced a line of dump trailers. They have six models, five of the models are for off highway use. Prices range from $2410.00 for a 1.5 ton model to $5400.00 for a 10,000 GVW highway model.

I sure like the way that several of the Pronovost's models dump on 3 sides. There's also list removable panels. Do some of the other manufactures offer the multiple dumping positions and removable panals ?

I bought a Bri-Mar dump about 3 years ago , it's 80" X 14' and rated at 12000 lbs. It has a twin telescoping cylinder set up with direct hook up. I have been able to dump every load so far ,some loads of top soil have been stacked high enough that it was falling off 3 sides ( I didn't leave my property loaded like that ) and still no problem dumping. It also has built in ramps , so I can haul my L-48 . A little extra length would be nice for the TBL but it works. Cost was somewhere around 6000

I have put my shopping on hold for now as I have found access to a small but very well built dump trailer to move dirt from my pond site. I appreciate all the input from everybody and I hope to put the info to use in a year or two. Thanks.

I have a Pronovost P-505 hydraulic dump trailer rated at 2.5 tons. I wanted the Normand dump trailer which was the same price but the dealer gave me a song and dance about delivery and being the same trailer. The Normand will automatically latch and unlatch the tailgate without any manual (human) work whereas the Pronovost has to be manually latched and unlatched every time the trailer is dumped (get on and of tractor). I bought the Pronovost and now I am looking at the Normand set-up to try to install on my Pronovost. Also the Normand is a much tighter and sturdier trailer and they are both manufactured in Quebec Canada.
