You wanted to see what I got, so gentlemen, meet "beeter". I named her the night I bought her. It was an ebay purchase, to far away, and was not told (till I got there) a few things. Here's a short list of things.
Heater fan
fuel gauge
speedometer
leaking hoist cylinders
clutch goes all the way to the floor
BOTH tail lights don't work
(A little rust on the hood) means all the way thru all the way across the front lip.
It has 3 tool boxes, not four.
Frame is NOT "clean with no rust"
Said battery was bran new (It did look like it was)
Choke doesn't work.

Moral of the story.. Don't hit the buy button at 1:30 in the morning. Don't believe someone selling an old truck. Don't believe ebay's "distance" option. (It lied by 100 miles). Don't get there at 8:30 at night to inspect and drive it off. Don't call him when your almost there so it's warmed up and running when you get there. Do take tools next time.

Sooo, I get 3 miles down the road and it dies on the hiway. Was going 9 miles to walmart to fix the lights and other things. When it rolled to a stop, the battery wouldn't crank it. Sooooo, I get to walmart, get a battery, all the while thinking if the battery is new, I've got a bad alternater, but I need to get it off the hiway for tonight. (The gentleman was magically not answering the phone anymore).
I get back to the truck, install the battery with my new 75.00 tool set. It turns over now, but won't start or even try..
By now, it's time for a motel. I leave the truck on the hiway and find a room. I'm a bit sick to my stomach at this time. The next morning, I'm thinking, possibly it ran out of gas and the battery coinsidently is a lemon.. I go get some gas and prime it, lo and behold, it starts. It seems the fella failed to mention the gas guage always says full and is broken and it only has about a pint of gas in it.

This is all the "short" version of the ordeal. It would take many pages to write the long version.
Here's a link to the truck on ebay. I'm also attaching pictures.

On the bright side. I really do like "beeter". Loaded, she can do 75mph, uphill and even gain speed if I give here the gas. It's important that I "like" the truck and I do...
She's in the shop today getting the clutch, fan blower, tune up, and headache rack and top tool boxes removed..

She will be getting all the bed lights replaced, painted from top to bottem, likely with alot of kioti orange paint. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sounds like you got off to a bad start, but it's a good looking truck, so I think you'll be happy with it in the long run.

Yup, like I say, I like ole beeter..

I see on another tbn thread that por-15 is a good paint/primer to use underneith a vehicle, so I reckon I'll get some and paint the entire underneath with it.

On the dump cylinders. Prolly as cheap and easy to just replace them if neccessary?

Cool truck. Will be very nice to be able to haul in or out various stuff that your tractor is able to move around. I assume you'll be able to load the dump bed with your tractor? That'll keep the miles and wear off of your good vehicles.

You could probably just get a seal kit and rebuild them for a fraction of the cost of new cylinders. The cylinders are pretty easy to rebuild... and as long as the shaft is ok that should be all you need.

On the hydraulics kit. Is there a "how-to" included when you buy the kits?

And for an update on the truck. I picked it up today from the mechanic so I could work on it thru the weekend before taking it back next week for the clutch replacement. I think the clutch bit the dust last nite. I can get it in third and that's about it.... I just needed it to last about 3 more days... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Bet ya'll wish I'd let this thread die already. haha

How much weight do you think I could put on this ole truck?

   / dump truck #20
Nope, just waiting for some action shots! How much weight before the frame cracks or before the lift won't budge /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Around 7K, see if there's any steering left. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
