The trailer upgrade did cross my mind, but I am really at the upper edge of my vehicles towing capacity as it is now and upgrading the tow vehicle would be MUCH more expensive than buying some more implements.
I ended up buying a used 6 1/2' disc that I will use around the house since the maximum I will be planting here is about 5 acres. I'm going to move my 8' disc down to the new land since I will probably be planing around 21 acres down there. I got a barely used King Kutter box style disc for $500 but had to drive 120 miles to get it. While I was there I also picked up a 14' pull type grain drill in working condition for $250 so I was pretty excited about that.
Now if I see a good inexpensive box blade or rotary cutter I may pick them up as well. I already see a hitch in my plans because I'm going to have to borrow a trailer to get the grain drill and disc down there at the same time as my tractor because I need to be able to load and unload them with my tractor. Having duplicates is going to save 2 trips each time!
