Another 40 DVD's showed up today!

I have a feeling that BIKINI CAR WASH will be a very popular DVD in Iraq. I don't think our guys get to see a lot of women that are dressed in something other than a burkah.

I'll be looking for the DVDs you sent in the next day or two. I'm sure they will be greatly apprecieated.

Mark
Just to let you know, I went into the local Target store and they had DVDs on sales for $5.50 each. The movies were box office hits, but were not the most current releases. I picked up 12 of them using the money you sent, plus some other money that was donated. Thanks again.

And to all, here is a part of an email I recieved from the soldier who is my employee. We just sent over the first box of movies, and told him to be on the lookout for it:

THANKS BOB.THEY WILL APPRECIATE THE MOVIES YOU ARE COLLECTING. THE GUYS ARE STARTING TO FEEL A BIG DRAG OM MY MORAL HERE. THEY ARE SO BORED IT IS NOT FUNNY, SOMETIMES THEY ARE ABOUT EXCITING AS A BARREL FULL OF DEAD MONKEYS,LOL THE MOVIES WILL BRING UP THEIR MORAL A LITTLE.,THANKS AGAIN,SPC.DAVID.L. ASHE.

I just wanted to publicly thank you for the $100 contribution. And since I know you have people over in the war zone too, please let me know if there is anything I can do for them. In fact, if you send me an address, I'm sure that I could arrange for a case of candy & snack foods to find its way to get to them.

Bob, sounds like things are working out and I am happy to contribute in any small way I can. Money can be tight in our household, as it is with many, but I will sure fire of what I can when I get money ahead.

Let the troops know that they are true heroes to the vast majority of folks back here in the states and we sure appreciate their efforts.

It always amazes me that there are people that condemn our troops while standing on the soap box of free speech that our soldiers defend for them. One would think that the shrill minority would take a break from their shortsightedness to at least acknowledge the sacrifice our troops willingly make.

As an aside, when the opportunity arises we donate in other ways. This last weekend we stopped at a local diner after taking the horses out for our noon day meal. My wife noticed 3 too young service men eating and without saying a word, she asked our waitress to add a piece of pie to their order and she then paid for the whole thing. She insisted the waitress not tell them who paid for it but the look of surprise and then curious gratitude made it pretty easy for my wife and I to split a burger and fries and not be hungry.

Thanks again for all your help in coordinating this effort.

Mark . . . I've done similar things with soldiers and even with local police officers. Momma didn't raise me to take a bullet (I'm far too beautiful to get bloody /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif ) But I do appreciate the freedoms we have here. Dad immigrated to the US while ****** was moving east and the Russians were moving west. He came here and enlisted and fought in WWII. Every uncle on both sides of the family served in WWII or Korea, many of my older cousins in Viet Nam. At my age, I missed all the conflicts but the learned the lesson of freedom from my family and from some visits to eastern Europe (back when it was all communist dominated). Some folks just don't understand how great life is here!

EastTexasFrank . . . the DVDs arrived yesterday.

Ron J Hall . . . the DVDs arrived yesterday. And by the way, the wine WAS excellent. The lovely Mrs_Bob and I shared 1/2 the bottle one evening with dinner and then finished it the next night. Thank you.

Just wanted to say that 3 large cases of DVD's just arrived by FedEx today. Probably close to 200 DVDs plus a box of music CDs too. There were from a music producer I know in NYC. I post this only because I've had many questions asking HOW LONG will I keep accepting DVDs to send overseas. The answer is that I am actively soliciting from friends and associates and will continue to ship boxes every week to these guys for as long as I have employees, or friends or family or friends of family or whatever I can find over there.

NIXON . . . Thanks for the DVDs they arrived yesterday along with the note from you & your lovely wife. All will be passed along.

And the current count of DVDs collected so far is : 416

We know of more that are coming in, and I also want to thank Bczoom for his efforts. I have a feeling we will end up shipping over a total of about 450 to 475 when we are done!
