Am I missing something or do I have to take a wheel off to get the bottom spindle that the three point hitch arms mount on out?

I have the owners manual..... interesting English. Does not appear to address the matter.
It shows the arms installed. I took delivery of it with the arms off, as the backhoe being on it requires that.

My tractor, as noted in my profile is a Emax22, hopefully constructed in the same manner. It appears that a common steel rod mounts both lift arms and stabilizers. The outboard end of the rod on both ends is supported by a plate on the differential housing secured by two nuts. It appears that removing the plate will allow the installation of the lift arms. There appears to be sufficient clearance with tires in place, I assume that the stabilizer brackets and turnbuckles are already on the tractor.

No, it came with the backhoe mounted and the arms and stabilizers in the FEL bucket. So, I have to pull the shaft to put them on, but it really looks like I have to take a wheel off to do it. BUT. let me take a look and make a pic.

Here you go.... there doesn't appear to be a plate to take off. The shaft goes through several layers of thick steel that are all part of the frame. Not very well shown in the pic is the fact that there is a large washer and a pin on the OUTSIDE of the frame, so with those removed it comes right out.... into the wheel.

My next question is.... can I have the backhoe on with the arms installed?

Quite different from my 22, looks like the wheel will have to come off. No experience with the backhoes on these, perhaps someone else will share knowledge on these.

Will be getting my emax 20 machine delivered tomorrow.....also with backhoe installed. YES you do have to take a wheel off. Saw this ? the other day, discussed at dealer today, and it almost made me walk on the deal, but the deal was too good. My sales rep seemed very knowledgeable, but he did not know this, service tech did. But I don't see me needing the rear pto much. Well for now anyway LOL

This is an old post, but for new people; Yes a wheel has to come off to put the 3-point lift arms on. -- I had trouble getting it set up correctly, including grinding the holes the shaft goes into, because the factory misaligned the plates for the backhoe frame, and I had to leave out a washer that goes on the shaft.

The good news is, you can have the 3-point installed with the backhoe on. Just tie everything to the top link when the backhoe is on.

Mahindra could have done a better engineering job on this tractor. And making the service manual available to owners would help too. -- For my install, I went to dealer and took pictures of how its installed on other tractors. And they were coming out of the factory installed wrong.

Yes the backhoe can be on with the lift arms attached. -- I take off the leveling arms, but tie up the lift arms and the top pin.

one tire has to come off to install the lift arms.
