MicroPilot has a good point. I booked a hunt with a guy in Idaho about a decade ago to hunt land on had the lease to. While there, he showed me and my friends some parcels of land he was selling off to hunters who wanted to build homes on them and be able to hunt his land at a special rate. In the long run,it would have been a great deal. Especially as this was near Soda Springs, and an area with some fantastic deer and elk hunting.
He turned out to be a crook and tried to pass public land as private, then snuck us on to private land that he didn't own. We complained to the Fish and Game, he went to court and had to reimburse us our expenses.
One of the really amazing stunts that he pulled was selling those parcels of land. HE DIDN'T OWN THE LAND!! In fact, when one of his clients was having a log cabin built on the land, the real owner happend to show up. The cabin was almost done!!!!!!
I don't know what the final outcome of all that was since it didn't pertain to me, but it's just unbelievable what some people will try.
