Dang it... missed it. Do they do this other times during the year?

So did I. I got the email from ebay with a 2:34PM time stamp, but I only check my emails in the morning. But they have done it three or for times this year.


I was also at this forum in the morning, so I missed this post until today, a day late.

By my count, this was at least the 10th time since last April. The first (and a few subsequent) was 20%. Most have been 15% and lately many have been 10%. Some have been sitewide, other have been limited to certain categories.

They're usually announced on the main page and a banner at the top of most other pages, but not always. Sometimes I'll catch the notice on AuctionBytes: Home - EcommerceBytes

I don't think I've ever received an email notification.

I occasionally get them from both eBay and PayPal. The last one I used was a $100 off on anything I paid for with PayPal. I think they, like Google, keep track of what you search for and target items that you might buy. The PayPal one surprised me since it was for anything but I only had hours to use it or loose it.

I have the eBay app on my phone so I get the notifications before checking my email.
