Well, I could pull it over, but after 10 or 20 yanks, I burned out. No firing... Whatever it was, we think a tiny bit 'o crude blocking fuel (jet?) it is now history. Saw starts like a champ, runs well, cuts better. I am happy with it, again. If this problem arises again, I do have carb cleaner, as well as an old can of starting fluid, which I think is basically ether. Just hadn't thought of it- never needed it before. I thought using canned gas for the "final" run before storage would take care of fuel issues. Dah.
FWIW, neighbor, who has two Stihls, was impressed with the Echo. I did replace the original "safety" chain with a more aggressive cutting chain. Bought some chaps and kevlar gloves, while I was at it. But, being careful and avoiding dumb moves is still the best safety item.
Best of all, the saw was $176, essentially brand new. I was happily surprised when my high bid on eBay got it. I think the seller was not happy with it, because the chain was faulty- had two right cutting links in a row, causing it to pull a bit to one side no matter how you sharpened it. Which is why I replaced the chain. In any event, it looked like it had run less than 20 minutes- no saw chips around the drive, chain looked new, or any other signs of use beyond some scuff and one missing bar nut.
