A little off topic but have found factory service contracts to be a huge benefit for medical equipment...
The travel charge and hourly rate will eat you alive and a lot of the items are in the 25 to 100k price range.
I do have good relationships with the service techs... have their home numbers for emergency use... before I got involved staff was calling for any and everything... so much so that one manufacturer said they did not plan on renewing...
We have several steam sterilizers that are end of life... but I have a 3 year contract in place... so the only parts they have are held for those with service contracts...
One of our fluroscans was under contract and could not be repaired... it had only a few month left but no parts... the manufacturer refunded the full amount paid and offered a huge tread in... sometimes you do come out ahead with expensive equipment plus the peace of mine.
One of the office companies sold us 30 shredders... we went for the 15% no quibble repair exchange program... say 2 a month went bad... I was a regular exchanging them... again... all monies paid were refunded and then we went to a service so it worked out.
