My birthday is in two weeks and the Mrs being what she is ( the sweetheart) ,,,, thought I should have a radio on the tractor that I spend so much time on ,,,( B2920),,,, so she called tractor radio web site,,,and they sent her a fender mounted encase unit with speakers measuring 12"X11.5"X9"D,,,it's pretty brigand needs to be mounted on the fender or the hood.

How do I tell her that this will not work on B series,,( zero fender space), without sleeping in the garage with the tractor

Opportunity to get a canopy and mount it on your ROPS?

Or how about "honey I know I dont always answer when you ask me a question, and my hearing isnt what it used to be, so what about a set of noise cancelling ear phones with a built in radio etc instead?"

For use while tractoring ONLY of course... otherwise your digging a deeper hole.

First thing is to find out IF they make one for your tractor, and then ask the sweetheart if she minds you exchanging it for the right one. If she gives you any hesitation, then mount it SOMEWHERE on the tractor and enjoy the tunes. (Even if I don't personally agree with tractor radios)

No they don't make one for a noisy open operator station compact tractor,,,but she thinks it's no big deal,,,just ride around on the lawn , with a 12" square block mounted to fenders with levers that need pulling coming out of them, turning the volume to try and overcome the diesel rattle,,,,,,,,

There are ways out of it.... Make it known that youa re looking for the B2920 mounting bracket....
Spend some time online with her over your shoulder looking for the bracket, go to E-Bay motors, Kubota, Best Buy, etc... and put on your BEST EFFORT to find the ellusive "mounting bracket" that specifically fits your B series.
When you aren't able to find it, act bummed out, then when you feel like its been enough time, suggest returning it for a set of Bose headphones..
Personally, I use my MP3 player and earbuds...

I do the same... I only add a set of hearing protectors so I don't have to deafen myself to overcome the engine noise. :D Even with the MP3 player going and a set of 'cans, you can still hear enough of the diesel to know if you are bogging down or not.

Point her toward a set of sound reducing ear muffs with am/fm radio capability. I wear 'em on the ZTR mower. 60 bucks does it. Leaves money for dining out and possible romance........

Geewhiz, how about just being honest about it. If it won't fit it won't fit and just say so. Anything else is just plain deception.

Good Post.
If my wife did something like that I would just tell her it would not fit and she would just go out of her way to help me find the right one.
