We’ve spent some time up there, but haven’t ran the loader a whole lot. It developed a bad leak on one of the lift cylinders, I’m letting it sit now.

Here’s what Terex says to do about it.

I cut a log to hold the arms up, and plan to have the bucket off like in the image. My son is repairing the tripod, I plan to assemble it around the log when vertical, to hold the log up.

I also improved the spot I work on the loader, it’s actually level now, and wider.

I ordered parts to block off the cylinder and lines while I work on it, it’s a different type than the other cylinders on the machine.

The area also had an evacuation order for almost two weeks, due to the Basin fire. It got within 6-7 miles.

Looks like quite a bit of work, rebuilt a cylinder then it looks like a new starter on an adapter plate.

My last "HD" gear reduction starter came on an adapter plate, I ended up having to re-clock the starter on the adapter plate.

Got the original starter rebuilt, it spins noticeably faster. I don’t hear cranking, it’s just running all of a sudden. I’m hoping this’ll help with cold starts.

I’ve been raking the forest. Seems to me that someone advised us to do that, so I’m getting it done. This isn’t a wide brush rake like they put on dozers, but it’s working.

The forks got stuck in the end of the log, and wouldn’t let go. I thought the forks were under the log, I lifted it to get the choker cable around.

I had to cut some off, too heavy, plus a lot of ground resistance.

Digging out a stump. I think it’s ready to pull out now, it still wouldn’t budge after digging only two sides. It moves now.

Unexpected bonus, this stump is fat wood.

I haven’t had to run coolant from another vehicle through to warm the engine before it’d start, since getting the starter rebuilt. Seems it was just cranking too slow.
