elec.w/2310 mahindra

I have a 2310 mahindra tractor,battery was dead,new battery,got another one same thing,plus glow plug light not working,got a new battery, talkled to dearler mech.said it was the starter,pulled it ,tested ok then pulled the alternator,tested it was ok,then put in new glow timer relay,stil having same problem can anyone help with this. thank you very much. ewbuchanan

You have checked the obvious now it gets harder. Did you check for a stuck starter relay? It sounds like either a major draw or a bad connection near the battery that acts like it is dead. The battery cable can corrode in the connector. You only see it if you peel the insulation back. Are you using a volt meter? check the battery voltage at the posts with at least one cable off. If you have voltage connect the cables and check again with every thing off. Now check at the stater end of the cable. If good try to start with volt meter connected. does you voltage go away? Let us know what you find.

The 10 series have several fuseable links in the wiring harness. There is one for the starting circuit and one for the preheat circuit. They look like a loop of wire that plugs into the harness.

thank you very much for the help checked the wires they looked ok checked all the wires and the fuseable links made sure they were not loose do not have a volt meter!still no glow plug light (checked the bulb its ok)checked all the fuse in the fuse box,
any other thoughts about what to do next.

I had trouble a couple years ago with my 3510 not starting (nothing electrical worked). I checked everything so I thought, it turned out the ground wire (battery to frame) wasn't working? The wire was super tight I never touched it but one day it stopped working. I finally took the wire off (it looked fine), shined it and the frame up with a wire brush put it back on and everything was working again.
