Electric Airless Sprayers

   / Electric Airless Sprayers #11
I bought an airless sprayer from Lowes 4 or 5 years ago. At the time, I was just wanting to stain about 500 feet of privacy fence, so I picked up a less expensive model, one with a 2 gallon reservior. Works great and I've used it far more often than I anticipated.

If I can ever figure out a way to break it - I'll replace it with one that feeds directly from a 5 gallon bucket. Life would be so much simpler.

We have a titan. Works (ed) great. Issues is that you have to keep using a sprayer or it begins to fall apart. Seals get gummed up. I ended up having to tear ours apart, clean, purchase a few things and it appears to be working correctly again. Also, in the winter you want to watch for freezing.

I have to paint a barn and silo before Winter.. I'm thinking of renting an airless sprayer.

Anybody out there used the electro rotary airless painter, just picked on off e bay havent used it yet, it's made of stainless and seems well made, made in the USA when we made good stuff,I'd say in the 60s or 70s.

Not sure if this works for the quart size airless sprayers as I have never used one. I often use the quart size siphon sprayers. I get a quart size freezer bag and line the cup. Use the bag that you press to close not the type that has the slide to close. I roll the top of bag over the cup, fill with paint then attach to gun. Once done, I pour leftover paint into a container and throw the baggie away. No mess in the cup. Cleaning the gun is much easier than the cup full of paint. I have been using these bags for years with all types of paint products. Never a problem.

Now I see that cup liners are being sold. HF has them but I have not tried them.

Our Graco came with a half dozen bags to go in the paint cup.

Well, I learned something else new on TBN today. I have a one quart air, not electric, paint gun but never thought about using a bag in it, and never knew cup liners existed.

Just throwing this out there.

I have seen commercial grade Graco airless sprayers for sale at several rental places over the years, usually in the $200-$400 range. Nice thing is, pumps are rebuildable (pump pack kits) can use 100' hose (comes with 50") and can use a 1 gal to 5 gal paint bucket. Most are on wheels so easy to move around and brother they can put out the paint. I have rented several and never had an issue. ( For work I use Graco airless sprayers for highway traffic paint, so I am a bit of a "fanboy"):D
