I am looking at moving some trailers around with my compact tractor. I will be at the max weight I can supposedly handle and then some. This will be for parking and possibly getting some hay put up if my tractor can handle it.

There have been posts about trailers pushing small tractors around (some serious accidents), but there was no mention if the trailers had brakes on them.

All my trailers have electric brakes, so I was wondering if I could put an electric brake controller on my tractor. Its 12V and has a brake light circuit. At minimum I could get an older model with a manual operating lever.

Has anyone done this and if so how did you mount the controller? Any operational issues?

Thanks for any thoughts

No personal experience but I have seen brake boxes being used on tractors. They were pulling those people haulers, tram or what ever you call them, like what you would see at the fair grounds and such.

I did it on my tractor. Works fine.
