how do i make one? i looked around and found the one with the winch motor but im ADD and cant wait a year for it to move side to side i have tryed 2 different things a window piper motor with a 14 tooth sprocket and a chain running to a 14 tooth sprocket to turn it it took 32 seconds to go from one side to the other, way to slow i had an old starter off a ATV tryed it with a 12 tooth on it and a 43 tooth on the thing to turn the shoot it goes from 1 side to the other in 1.4 seconds flat and its violent so not gonna work. and how do i wire it? like i cant put power to the hole ground of the tractor and ground the 1 wire off the motor im at a loss and the cabs going on the tractor and a crank isnt gonna work.. and it doesnt have hydro take off for anything but the bucket and i dont feel like blowing $300 to get that working. i have a welder and am open to any ideas thanks in advance

Go to the main page, Then General Forums, then Build-It Yourself, then in the upper right, look for the Search boxes, In "Search this Forum, type "Chute" no quote marks! You'll find a lot of reading, if you opt for the more conventional spelling of Chute ! And 'Hey' welcolm to TBN! ~Scotty

Before you go too far.....make sure your engine can power a battery. Many snowblowers have only an A/C circuit to run a little light.

I have a similar set up on my blower with a window motor and a cable wrap around the chute. It has worked remarkably well after 3 years, the only issue I had originally was that it was slow until the area between the chute and the collar it rotated against got wet, then it was fine. I changed the small metal shoes the chute rotated against with small bearing like a cam follower no more issues. I also added a electric linear actuator for the chute damper and a larger one I had as a top link. With the adjustable top link I can float over my gravel driveway but cut through the ice on neighbors paved drives.
