I'm considering swapping out the electric motor on my winch to a hydraulic motor. I would use the rear ports on my tractor to control the motor.
Has any one tried this? Looking for some feed back.

A lot depends on what type of electric winch you have. The older Ramseys and Bradens came with a choice of electric or hydraulic....I'd rather have hydraulic myself if possible.

Thanks for that thread 6sunset6. It seams not to be as easy as swaping out the electeric for a hydraulic motor and running it off the rear remotes, and use the control leaver that controls the remotes.
The winch I have is a Ramsey 9000 pro

The Ramsey RE series were hydraulic (or electric). They featured a worm drive and while slow and heavy never seemed to quit. The winch was often seen on tow trucks with a chain drive from the PTO
