I bought the Kobalt 40 max on the suggestion of a fellow forum member and he didn't steer me wrong. It works every bit as good as the Bolens gas powered that it replaced and batteries last at least 45 minutes of cutting. I have two batteries and with 3 acres of yard, 600' of drive, 3 buildings and about 250 trees, I've never needed for a battery. They charge in 1 hour.

I have had a Black and Decker 20V cordless for a couple of years now. Does a great job. use in on the 2.2 acre yard and it does a decent job on farm fence row on the north side of the yard. Came with two lithium batteries and I can do everything on them with about half the second battery charge left. One of the 36V or 40V varieties might do the job a little quicker and maybe on just one battery, but this B&D was on sale and a great value.
