Electrical light\'s and sending unit on 2202D

There are several light's on my 2202D that I am not sure about.. There is one red light to the left of the ignition key switch? There is one white light below the ignition switch in a plastic cover that is in front of the gear shifter. I have no idea what these light's are for.. I have a light on my dash for a sending unit for the battery water level that I have bypassed because I have no sending unit on my battery... Does anyone know where to get a unit for my battery?? Some one told me the units can work on any battery if you have the sending unit??? Thank you

The red light is probably the Thermostart light. Turn the key to the TS position and see if it comes on and then goes off after about 10 seconds. The white light is a light that shines on the gear shifter when the headlight switch is in the on position.

You don’t need a water level sending unit on a maintenance free battery.

You are right about that EFC, But I dont have a maintenance free battery. I have water in mine with a light on the dash.. I was told that the sending unit screws in the water fill holes and plugs into the wiring harness. By the way EFC... I have one of your loaders on my tractor and was wondering how much it can lift?

I have a sending unit out of a Japanese battery. I don't think it would fit a US battery. It is larger in diameter than a US fill hole. I think it would hit the lead plates before you could get it all the way in.

Isn't that battery water sensor the oddest thing? I mean, how many times in your life have you had a battery go low on water? Around our place we've had half a dozen vehicles for 50 years, so that's 25 to 50 batteries anyway...plus all the ones that I sold at the shop....I think out of that group there was one battery that need to be refilled with water. And it was about 30 years ago. Sometimes you gotta wonder if those factory guys just didn't have anything else that needed doing.

That water sensor is a very odd thing... Never seen on on anything else come to think of it... I have bypassed it so the light doesn't come on.. I guess Japan has a phonaminal evaporation problem over there that defies the law of physic's!!! Lol

I think that those folks how have an extra unused light need some help finding a good alternate use for it. How about a little brainstorming here./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

When I was in high school. um.. a few years ago.. A friend of mine had a 280zx ( nissan ? ) and it had a battery level sensor too... guess they love those things...
