You said you were running it when it died. Any chance you were using the PTO? If so you many not have fully disengaged the PTO and the PTO safety switch will cause the type of sympthoms you're experiencing. Sometimes I have to jiggle my PTO lever to get my 2120 to start.

Remember that you need to bleed the injector pump when you run out of fuel. That way you won't go through the situation you just had.

OK, but he still needs to replace it with another fusible link.

Ditto.. A new fusable link is needed for proper protection of the accy circuits..e tc.
