Kioti CK3510SE HST
Just purchased a 2019 CK3510se hst and have a question about the electrical wiring. I have the kioti orange canopy also.

I want to add a couple additional work lights (forward and backwards).

I see just behind the drivers seat are two wires that have nothing attached to them. One on the left side (as sitting in seat near left elbow) is a bullet connector(s) (male and female). The other has a kioti connector (kind of like an ampseal 16 connector).

Questions.......

What are these wires originally used for by kioti?

What is the electrical limits of the wires?

Can I use these wires for LED "off road" light bars?

Any suggestions are appreciated also.

Thanks

You'll have a lot better luck with this question if you could post a few pictures of the wires you're talking about.

If someone doesn't know specifications of connectors, and it's circuit, finding out the hard way means:
- Take a voltmeter and see when you get voltage at connector when key switch and/or light switch are in different positions.
- Then see what fuse that circuit is on.
- Then see what other loads are on that fuse.
- Subtract other loads amps from fuse size amps. This is spare capacity of that circuit and determines what you can add.

LED's usually add little.

Usually behind the seat is a customer connector for lights and such, at least on mine.I have a 08 ck35.

I do not have a 2019 CK or a shop manual electrical diagram and hopefully someone with those will provide an accurate answer, but here is what I have discovered.

I have three connectors at the rear of my 2016 DK (see photos)...

3pin on left- ground, 12v hot, 12v on ignition (I am using this for a rear work light and switch).

Black in middle - for trailer lights, gnd, running lights, left turn, right turn, 12v.

2 on right - dead. (One may be gnd). I may have to add a fuse or maybe a switch in a blank position on the dash to make these connectors work.

PEJ5 . . . Your photos are the same as my connectors I am asking about. The black connector is the one near the right elbow (behind the seat in the wiring harness). The two bullet connectors are the ones near the left elbow. I am sure they were used for the cab model for something. Just would like to know what so I can 'maybe' use them for lighting. Thanks all for your comments.

Here is the pin out for the black trailer connector (see photo below). They are only 18 gauge wires so they would not pass much current but should drive an LED work light. Connect the work light to positions 1 and 3 with an inline fuse (3 or 5 amps) and switch.

As I mentioned I also have a 3 pin connector with heavy gauge wires and that is what I connected to for my work light.

Finally, I have three sets of unused bullet connectors shown in the second photo - top right of centre, lower right and lower left. Does anyone has a service manual with an electrical diagram showing what these are to be used for? Not to steal from your question but someone must have a diagram that would help.

RadarRick. I just checked the two bullet connectors and they provided 12volts when the ignition is on so that would to supply a work light. From memory I thought they did not provide anything, but I was wrong. First time for everything.

I have a DK4210SE and it has a 7pin trailer connector at the rear as well as the white plastic plug and 3 pairs of bullet connectors. One pair of the bullet connectors are key power switched for a rear utility light. The other 2 pair of bullet connectors are for front utility lights. On mine these are wired to a connector in the steering column so you can just install a switch in the spare location. I had to also install a relay in the fuse panel for the front lights which has been a bit of a chore finding a relay that will fit.

I would also like to get a wiring diagram as the factory wiring for the switch had two wires going to the relay and I would like to know why.

IMHO... Run a new fused power wire from the Battery to a relay, then to the lights.
Control the relay with a switch on the dash or a side panel, which ever you have or want to install.

Even if these new lights are LEDs it is better to create a new circuit, you will know what is going on with the whole system if you know where the wires go... AND you won't over load any existing circuit.

It doesn't take much, a 12V, four pin relay, some wire, a fuse for the power wire from the battery, some connectors, Heat shrink with adhesive inside, a switch and if wanted an indicator light, oh ya the Lights you want to use as work lights.
Mount all the components, the Relay should be as close to the battery as possible with a fuse between the battery and the relay.
Mount the Switch and Indicator Lights on the dash and the Work Lights where you want them.
Run the wires between them; bing, bang, boom, all done.
Biggest things here is to make sure all components and wiring are sized for the amount load being applied to the circuit.

Sound likes more work but this way you can have a separate circuit for Work Lighting, even have two switches and relays for separate front and rear lights and you don't interfere with the Tractor, its running circuits, and the existing lighting circuit.

Just me, in the long run you end up with less strain on a circuit that you aren't even sure will support the extra lighting AND the lighting will last longer with properly sized wire and components.
