Electronic FEL level indicator

This fall I worked on a neighbors yard to clean up a pile of dirt (30 to 40 tons) that had laid on the lawn for 4 or 5 years. I scooped up the excess, and cut the grade to match the rest of the yard. He was satisfied with the results. While I am no grade cutting expert I have done it many times over the years. I just go slow and pay attention and keep making adjustments as I go. With my relatively heavy tractor and loaded tires and my ballast on the 3pt, I can cut into most soils pretty well.

Hm-mm, I was puzzled til I went and checked on mine. The overhang is only a little more but the wheelbase on mine is 7 inches less. This would allow a good bit more up down blade movement before the tires began to exert a controlling influence. Also my std bucket bottom is a 2 angle design - very good for digging but less for grading. On further thot the axle height should not be a factor causing change in the tractor attitude under load as I had originally thot.

You can keep 'splainin' this thing to death, if you choose. The fact of the matter is...a level bucket indicator of any type will make you a faster, more productive operator.

Well said!

We have the level indicator rod on the NH TL100-A but, only the "stupid" bracket and decal on Kubota B-2710. I am obviously too stupid, and no experience, to do anything but lean right or left to see side of the bucket to see if it's level, at ANY height.

On the NH, with level indicating rod, I am brilliant and have years of dirt moving experience, and can hit a dirt pile or whatever with bucket, grapple, hay spear, etc. at level, on the run.

I still think the self leveling FEL on the LS tractors (and I'm sure others) is the way to go.

Well if people are having a hard time accepting my electronic level indicator, there're really going to have a hard time accepting me grading with my front bucket cam.:)
Level is good, but finding the correct height and in an instant knowing your getting what you want and not peeling turf is even better:thumbsup:
I know, I know I'm not really using correct operating skills, being one with the tractor etc. etc. but I'm having fun.

Wow, that bucket is all kinds of cool!!! I've have not seen anything like it. I could see the front panel replaced with an optional grate for screening material.

Waxman's camera gives some of the advantages that a skid steer has over a tractor---visibility for various attachments. For instance, take the attachment linked in JDrancher's post just above. That works great on a skid steer because of visibility. Add Waxman's camera to a tractor and you have that visibility and then some.
That Davis bucket would be a great winter DIY project and would make use of a couple extra remotes.
