Electronic Flasher Circuit

Re: Das Blinken Lights und Spits-n-Sparken II

Sorry, I misunderstood your earlier post. $50. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif for the electronic flasher module huh? Well I could understand that if it did everything in that "Kubota Flasher" circuit. Let's see, ground, +12v, Hazard in, Left turn in, Left turn out, Right Turn in, Right Turn out; well waddya know - 7 terminals!/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif IF, that is, it does all that. If it is just the flasher module that would seem a bit steep to me./w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Mark,
Yep 3 wires on the B21 flasher. Now my B7500 is like Bird's 2710, 7 wires.
I don't see how it could do what I'm
wanting to do with only three wires.
It would be harder but I'm thinking two of the three terminal flashers. Later
SAW (still @ work).

Hey guys - I know this is an old thread but I'm still trying to figure this
out myself on a B6200. This has a 3 wire flasher. I checked the switch
(it switches :) ) and the bulbs by running 12v to them. In the WSM it
sure looks like all I need to do is connect red to green to get 12v to
the lights and verify that it is the flasher (a stupidly expensive flasher)
that isn't working. But, no go. The three wires are red (supply), green
(bulbs) and black (ground I think). Am I completely misreading the
WSM schematic? If so, what do I connect to what to verify that all I
need is a new (stupidly expensive) flasher?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Das Blinken Lights und Spits-n-Sparken II

OK, now things get really strange./w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif The attached is the Kubota method of providing turn signals and flashers.

When no turn signal is present, engaging the hazard switch causes the flasher module output to go through the normally closed contacts of the relays and flash both turn lamps. So far so good.

Now when you engage a turn signal normally (no hazards) the related relay closes and the lamp draws on the flasher module.

When both the hazard and the turn signal are engaged: the active turn signal remains connected to the flasher module output, while the inactive turn signal switches from the flasher module output to +12VDC (on but with very brief blinks when switching)./w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif Trust me - this diagram is far simpler then the factory schematic./w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

Words of caution - I found the same relay I brought from my dealer for about 1/4 the cost in the Radio Shack catalog. ARGGHH! /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif The only thing you may want to add is a fourth relay on the output of the flasher module so you don't have to worry about loading, though I suspect that won't be too much of an issue with the LED lamps./w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

I know this is an old thread and I probably shouldn't scrape it off the bottom of the barrel, but I think what I want to say is worth it.

All I want to say is THANKS AndyR! I've been looking for a way to add hazard flashers/turn signals to the tractors I have, but couldn't find an easy way to do it. Your schematic helped greatly! Once I pull the parts together, and the weather warms up a little, I will be getting them installed.

Thanks again, AndyR!
