I got some work done over the weekend. Had about 6hrs where wifey didn't have plans for us and the grandkids. I am working alone so monkeying these walls around isn't fun (about 150lbs each). Tough to get good pics right now. But I got all four walls done and will be putting them up in the next few weeks. The excavator won't reach high enough so it will have to be done with human muscle. When I had a construction company, these tasks were a snap. Get a few of the guys together and it's done in a few hours. When your working alone, a lot more thinking has to go into it. I was gonna build it all up on the platform but decided not to because siding it would have been a horror due to the sloping ground. And me knees aren't to keen on walking up and down the ladder a hundred times a day. 25yrs of roofing and siding will do that to ya LOL?
Enough ranting, pics.
And a table I made out of the tree its sitting on. Table is 5' diameter and 3" thick. Letting it age a little and then going to stain it same as the barn.

Thanks Ed. I got my neighbor to help me this weekend get the walls up to the base. Should start looking like something after we get them put together.

Well, I had a productive weekend. My neighbor gave me a couple of hours and we humped the walls up. Then I went to work on completing the rest of the blind.
Walls going up
Roof going on. The only wood purchased were these red cedar shingles.
Corner posts and window trim. I am not sold on the window trim. I wanted to keep the rain and snow out while the windows are open and give the shooter a better rest with a larger sill. I will have to see if it grows on me.
And finally the hidden door and a view from inside.

Nice progress. I struggled on what to do for windows on my blind. Initially I wanted something small, like what you have, so I wouldn't bee seen in there. But after looking around, thinking about how to do it, I settled on single pane aluminum windows from Home Depot that where pretty cheap. They work great at keeping the weather out, they are easy to open, and since they slide up, they are out of the way when opened. The biggest issue that I have with my blind is the windows fogging up when we have a heater going. Sometimes it's so cold that we will have two heaters going!!! My walls are not insulated, but my ceiling is. If I was to do it again I would insulate the walls and floor. I would find a way to vent the ceiling so I could get rid of the condensation, but I don't know how to do that. The more comfortable that I am, the longer I will stay in there.
