I receive a lot of pictures from family, and prefer the way Outlook Express displays the attached picture as part of the message without having to open each picture individually.

My Outlook Express is on the blink. When I launch it, I get the splash screen but nothing else happens. Furthermore, it slows the computer to a crawl so it becomes useless for anthing. I can never find an application or service to stop, to free up the computer, so I have to shut down, and even that sometimes requires holding the power button down on my laptop.

I am now using Outlook, but I hate that you have to open each picture by itself.

Any other clients that work like OE in that they show the pictures as part of the message? And otherwise work well?

did you try Thunderbird? IMHO anything is better than micro$oft.

I agree with Prokop. I use Thunderbird which makes it easy to watch the 5 e-mail accounts I currently have active. I do plan to reduce that to 2 in the near future however.

Try using Ctrl-Alt-Delete to bring up the Windows Task Manager and close OE there.

Does Thunderbird allow you to view incoming photo attachments as part of the message? That is, if there are 5 pics attached to the message, can I just see all five pics one after another as part of the message and not have to open each picture separately?

When I go to the task manager, there is no application to select that is OE. And I can't identify any service as being OE either. So nothing to stop, or at least that I have been able to identify.

I use OE and love it... If yours is on the blink.. why not just re-install it.

Sometimes it will get caught up in maintenance and move or compact alot of messages, and it can take quite a few minutes.. during that time it appears locked up. how about laoding it up and just letting it set there for a bit and see what it does. Also.. sometimes a bad message comes thru and locks it up and it hangs on that one.
