Hi, have a 21 emax 20 with 11 hrs on it. Went to use my backho and my seat slam down. It want rise back up or spin back around to use. Anyone had this problem before. U can pry it up with a screw driver but want stay that way. Has linkage on the seat also a shock.

wahat did you pry on to release the seat so it will raise up? Mine is stuck down.

This problem may be nothing more than dust accumulation.
Spray with Blaster solvent. Wait four hours. Spray with Blaster a second time.
Tap stuck parts with a mallet.

Here is what others need to know.
Dealer sent a repair tech. What happened is this -- and its really a very stupid design -- if the seat is not latched into position, before you sit it in, it can go lower then the intended design, and that will cause plastic on the front on the seat to become wedged in the latch.
If it happens you first have the clear the plastic jamming the latch, and then use a prybar and a screwdriver at the back and at the same time to move the seat up. so it can be rotated.
there should be a fix for this and recall. the design should not allow this. the tech that came said he had never seen this problem before.

Not dust. In the backhoe position the seat had to be latched in, or it will drop. On mine I needed a 3 ft prybar to move it up. And it took effort. Its a bad design. After it fell 3 times, I learned to wiggle the seat to insure the latch engages.
I had the same problem on my Emax20sIts fixed.

My problem was similar to yours but it’s not just the fact that the back latch wasn’t latched it was the metal latch only went up into the seat catch by like 1/16”
Any leaning back the latch would separate and the seat would slam dow and get wedged... which I would need to break out the flat bar and pry up to free the seat.
My fix was to remove the latch, weld on some additional 1/8” material at the top of the latch and grind back into shape.
So far no more seat failures.
I may do that too, when the warranty expires. -- I'm not thrilled with the Emax 20. The Cat 1 -narrow 3-point hitch is useless.
It is a light duty tractor in my opinion and I agree with your assessment on the 3-point.
