EMax 25 RPM Indicator Bouncing

I have a 2014 EMAX 25 with about 130 hours. Just recently the RPM gauge jumps around by 1000+ rpm's while moving the throttle very little. The engine RPM doesn't change, just the gauge jumps around.

Anyone else have this issue? Does anyone know where theses tractors pick up the rpm's from the engine so I can start trouble shooting.

I have a service a manual on the way, thought I would ask in the mean time.

May check your belt to be sure its not jumping a bit also

Sounds like an electrical problem to me. My father-in-law's JD 3032E tachometer will occasionally sit at zero for a few minutes after starting and then suddenly start to work. Probably will require a new or rebuilt gauge cluster.

I have a 2014 emax 25 hst as well. I too have noticed the an intermittent tach issue. It haven't noticed it in the last few weeks as it seems to come and go. strange that the rpms tend to go up and not down. At what sounds like 2,000 the needle will read 3,000. Might be worth a call to the dealer if it continues and if I ever get some free time.
