My regular max 28xl has one. It's retractable and attached to the seat. That changed somewhere along the line as some have said they have a regular friction type.

So, if the Owners manual says wear one and you accept ALL liability don't wear one!!!!!!!!
Actually Mahindra came up with a pair of brackets for me to try, they could not get Max 24 belts with retractors
to work because of interference with bucket joy stick.
If you dig only in sand and never encounter a rock or roots, go ahead and don't wear one, a basic Darwin solution.
