eMax Brake Switch Location

I haven稚 looked, maybe it痴 way to find, but lately my eMax 25 is sometimes not starting unless I kind of push down the brake a few times. I知 thinking maybe the brake switch/sensor is going out? Is this likely the issue?

Anyone know where to look for the switch? And maybe where to get, and what part number to use, to order a new one?

The switch is typically below the floor. Look under the floor where the brake linkage is. They typically come out of adjustment or have bad contact/ground with the machine. I’d fiddle with it before I replaced it. If you do need to replace it I’d start at an auto parts store. A brake switch is fairly common.

I知 back to this problem. It had been ok until recently. Yesterday it wouldn稚 start at all. Pushing the switch in by hand it didn稚 start u til I tapped on the sensor with the wrench.

When you mention the ground, is it grounded with a wire? Or where it bolts to the tractor?

It has 6 wires, is there a way to bypass the switch? I thought the tractor was going to be stranded yesterday when it wouldn稚 start

6 wires to the brake switch!?!? Yikes. Their is obviously more than a simple ground going on there. Typically the switch just grounds through the body when it’s “switched”. It sounds like you need a new switch.

I’m sure their is a way to bypass it- problem is two fold. One, it’s not safe. Two, you could either bypass the switch or short something out- possibly in the computer. It’s not worth the risk. The only way to know for sure is to study the wiring schematic and or trace all the wires.
