Emergency Starting TC30 with Jumpers???

Think I figured out what's going on. The starter is freezing up in the extreme cold. A buddy who works on heavy equipment says their loaders freeze up when snow dust gets into the starters. I put a heat lamp on it and it started right up. Thank god. I'll leave the heater on it tonight and hope it starts tomorrow!

Did that make it start with the key or with the jumper?

If you do have a safety that it is bad, it is unlikely that jumping the starter will help unless someone is also sitting on the seat. IE: IF the PTO is engaged it will lock out the start function. IF the PTO is engaged and no one on the seat, it will kill the fuel. So not only is someone on the seat a good idea, it is also required if indeed a PTO safety is bad.
