Enclosed Trailer Brand Recommendations

I know most of you aren’t hauling equipment with enclosed trailers but we are in need of a new trailer around 7.5 or 8.5’ x 18’ approximately and I was wondering what brands y’all recommend?

There are a hundred trailer brands out there now and it’s hard to know who makes a quality trailer and who makes crap and the prices are all over the place.

I had a 7x14 aluminum enclosed that I sold a few years ago and am looking to replace it with something a little longer and taller. Another aluminum frame one would be preferred but open to quality recommendations.

I’m in the military and moving from Germany back to the U.S. next week which is why we are looking for a new trailer and seeking brand recommendations. So many of the brands I’ve seen online at local trailer dealers in Iowa are things I’ve never heard of.

We are going to Iowa to visit family and picking up a lot of our belongings we left stored on our family farm. Our move to Europe is why we sold our last enclosed trailer.

IF you are not going national "name Brand" like HAULMARK at least look for "local" builders who use "name brand" quality parts.
For example "Dexter E-Z Lube" axles, not clones of Dexter.

A problem is that most anyone with a high powered glue gun or 120V MIG welder can stick together a trailer. And with an enclosed trailer a lot of the build is hidden.

An alternative would be to get a GOOD equipment trailer big enough for your L6060 and put a removable box on it to move the belongings. I did that for several years.

I've had really good service from my 15K 20 ft equipment trailer from them. If you don't mind driving a bit out of your way, they have factory locations in both Carolinas and Nebraska If I remember right, and they will deliver as well.

Out here, Charmac seems to be the brand with the best reputation..unfortunately, it reflects in the price and it takes a long time to get one.

While in Iowa, will you be near Des Moines? If so, there is a business that usually has a large selection of trailers of all kinds on hwy. 69, about a mile north of the interstate. I've bought 2 of them there in the past 20 years.

We will. Our family farm is outside of Guthrie Center an hour or so West or DM. We’ll also be in N. Iowa near Mason City/Clear Lake for a week.

Thomas Bus sales in DM is a great dealer and we’ve bought a couple trailers from them over the years also. I just hadn’t heard of the brand of aluminum enclosed trailers they sell before.

What is the name of your recommended dealer and I’ll look them up.
