End of the diesel light truck

I have an idea for a new diesel particulate filter system. With every new diesel purchase you get a free politician or EPA bureaucrat who will wrap their mouth around the tailpipe opening. I propose that Nancy Pelosi be used as the prototype for testing the effectiveness of such a system.

I'd settle for all the enviro-dictators responsible (yours, and Canada's) to be put into a fenced compound with 50 large late model diesel trucks, all going into Regen. After about an hour of that I'd like to ask them what they now think of the systems they forced onto the market.

Personally, I like to see people work on things that they are good at. How about this crowd gets put to work on testing the emissions of horse-drawn vehicles ? They are obviously experts.

For us peasants that are stuck in traffic choking on urea fumes, this is not a small problem. I won't be surprised at the toxicology studies that eventually will come to light.

But, if you are an enviro-dictator, and divide your time between being whisked around on high-end government transport and lounging on a beach in Belize, Not So Much of a problem.

Our Politicians need to stop cowering to the idiotic Kommiefornia based EPA. They are pathetic, illogical, and they will be the reason for their own demise.

I don't think it would work well. They are already so full of hot air, the backpressure would cause serious engine damage.

I say,
1)Buy what you need
2)Buy what you want
3)Buy what you can afford

Not necesarily in that order but consider yourself lucky if all 3 parameters fit you. To each their own.

Possibly; but part of the Politician/Bureaucrat Emission System (PBES) would include enlarged rectal orifices to allow cleansed gasses to pass without restriction to atmosphere.

Believe whatever you want to believe.

Look at the numbers. The total gross btu's of energy per gallon and the energy required to move the vehicle. There is no way to improve internal combustion engine efficiency over 50% and that is a complex stretch.
That mileage is no more possible than pouring three gallons of water from a one gallon jug, without refills.

If the general population would just look at the diesel engines and not automatically think they are "loud and stinky" - basically give them a chance I think most would be surprised. A friend rode in my Dodge 6.7 Cummins the other day and asked what motor I had in the truck, I told him the diesel and he said he thought it was but it was way to quiet and smooth for a diesel - or so he thought, he then followed it up with "and it does not even smell." He then said he would think about Diesel since they "came so far."
I believe too many people remember the old and are not aware of some of the advantages to be had with a small diesel. If the auto industry would advertise it a bit more and get peoples stereotypes broken, sales would increase, more would be coming to market, fuel production would go up (and maybe help get the price down a bit), and help the their average MPH # up with the Govt.

Check the emissions regs and the gasoline vs diesel prices in Europe. That explains all the diesels in Europe and the few here . Primarily in 8600+lb pickups.

All I know is when you put 17 round bales on a big gooseneck trailer behind the Dodge that big impressive motor is really struggling. Put that same motor in a medium duty truck with double the gears and a deeper ratio and it would be a different story.

Wow.. guess I got lucky and bought a supertruck of the lot back in 06... Have put 17 round bales behind my truck countless times and cruised at 65mph in 100+ degree heat for hours...
