Got a used cylinder with JD ends, what does the Kubota require and where's the best place to buy them?

What do you mean by JD ends? The male quick coupler fittings that are used by JD?

There is no specific "JD" type or brand of coupler.

However, there are several different styles and sizes of quick couplers available in the marketplace. You have to get the part numbers from the male and female ends and match them up. Any good hydraulic shop or online source like Discount Hydraulic Hose has a cross reference chart and should be able to help you.

Here is a link to an online chart. It's good for reference but DO NOT buy from this place. Service and delivery is spotty at best, if you get your stuff at all.

JD uses several different styles and sizes depending on what tractor and what implement it was on.

Kubota also uses several diferent styles and sizes depending on what the application is.

You have got to match numbers to see what you have.

It is probably cheaper to buy male ends for the cylinder hose that match the Kubota QD than it is to change the QD on the tractor.

If the cylinder was being used on an old JD, then it very well could have JD ends on it. JD, Case and IHC all had their own specific connector designs at one time. I don't know when they quit using the brand specific models, but it was at least 30 years ago. Here are examples of the types that were available.

Hello….All Kubota I have seen you use a Pioneer end, it is the ½ inch with a round ball at the end not the one with a pointy tip on the check ball. You can get them at Tractor Supply or any place like that. KrnnyV.

I don't know any names or specs but my B-I-L gave me a set of adapters that accept the male ends from a big JD mower and plugs into the rear remotes on my L4400. So it may be easier to get an adapter than refitting the cylinder hoses or the tractor. The adapter works like a charm.

Adaptors get a little bulky, if he is going to keep the cylinder he may as well get the kubota ends for the hoses... TSC also sells the adaptors... KennyV.
