Engine block heater for BX 1500

I have used magnetic block heaters in the past. They are better than nothing, but only barely.

I don't care how cold it is, put on some rubber gloves & put in a frost-plug heater. It's only 10 minutes of pain and will be a HUGE improvement over a magnetic heater.

I just bought a radiator hose mounted heater today for my tractor. I got it at TSC in Mt Pleasant Michigan It cost $22. and is very easy to install, just cut the hose in half, insert heater, install two clamps and you are done.

I agree totally!! But depending on the tractor, takes a little more than 10 minutes to install.

I couldn't see any easy access on my tractor for the freeze plug heater. I have a small 3 cylinder engine and there is "stuff" in front of most the freeze plugs, things like the injection pump.

The Radiator hose heater is rated at 600 watts and I have good access to it on my tractor. It is a "Kat's" brand heater made by five star manufacturing. It will take me longer to drain the coolant and put it back in than it will take to install the heater.

It is odd that it doesn't say where it is manufactured, but the electric cord looks like a good quality domestic product as does the fit and finish of the heater itself.

I just looked them up on Google. Now I feel al warm and fuzzy!!

Isn't it great when you tell the quality by just looking at and handling the product!
