Hi. This is the inline heater that i have installed on my MF 1140...works like a charm...will melt snow on the hood.
It is installed in the bottom rad hose. You simply cut it and install the heater.
I happened to have a pick on my phone since i was changing the water pump today.
Ordered a new water pump from the Massey dealer...$300 plus shipping...OUCH. The lower rad hose is $50.

I have a inline lower rad hose heater on my tractor. They are very easy to do. The block heater type are deemed to be the best but can be a real pain to do .I have also installed block heater elements on industrial engines at 1500 watts on 250 HP cummins and VW diesels.

I am not sure if there is room for an inline hose heater on a GC. It is pretty tight in there.

There are lots of nice block heaters on E-Bay in the $35 range. If someone could specify the exact size of the freeze plug, the heater replaces in the GC, and the length of the heating element, perhaps one that will work is out there. If not, now that there are enough GC's out there, maybe they will offer an aftermarket one that is specified for the GC soon.

I wanted one put on my new GC2400. Dealer told me they always go with the magnetic stick on type. He said "no matter what you do, someday it's gonna leak". Made since to me.

I've had block heaters on every vehicle I've owned since 1984 and have never had one leak.

I have a block heater on my MF 1529. It works great. I have it on a timer wher it heats for 2hrs every morning. Starts up with ease and no more smelly puff of black smoke.
