engine knock.

Well I think I may have a noisy engine. It sounds like a wrist pin or lifter or rod bearing. It was quiet when I bought it new then around 30 hours I noticed it getting louder then hadmy first service at 65 hours. I told the dealer to check it but I think they checked it after engine oil was changed. They found nothing. It came back at around 90 hours. It could be that this engine is just noisy like that and will run forever. Anyone else think ct122 engines are noisy after oil gets some hours on it. Ck20s should be the same also I think. Watched a video on youtube ct122 and I could here the same knock. I. Can here it best at diferent rpms. I hear it well at high idle,1500. That's where I put it at shut down every time. I need to ask some freinds to listen if they think its louder than other compact deisel tractors. Until then any feedback would be appreciated. 1 more year of warranty left to figure out if I should make a big deal of it. Thanks.

I think you are just going to have to either trust your dealer or find another dealer to get a second opinion. I know that's not much help but I can tell you that my CT235 is really noisy. I wouldn't be able to hear a knock if I had one because it's just a rattly little diesel. When it's cold out and I start that thing you would swear it's gonna all come apart. :laughing:

yeah thats what i mean. it just seams louder than other small tractors ive heard. some are so quiet that it makes me think my engine is abnormal. would like to hear more feedback on this. i hear it more around the hydraulic pump area. seems like one cylinder has more of the spark knock rattle sound to it.
