My Farmtrac 270 is equipped with a Daedong engine so I thought you guy's might enlighten me. While removing the two drain plugs for the engine oil I noticed they were not installed very tight from the factory. Also, there is a thick rubber washer under each plug. How often do you replace the rubber washers? Is there a torque value for the drain plugs?
I appreciate any info.

Thanks,

John

All too often oil plugs are put in 'way too tight', and they don't need to be. Don't want to mess up the threads in the oil pan.

Snug is what I do. Of course, don't want to lose one either. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

You would replace the washers if they become thinly compressed, or start cracking. You only need enough tightening to stop leaks, don't over do it as stated already. Simply snug it down, run the tractor and check for leaks. Tighten a little more if needed.
