Engine Oil Filter

Can anyone tell me the NH Part No. for the engine oil filter for a TC40D. I bought a filter and think they gave me a H.S.T. Filter. The part no. is 86546618. Are these filters interchangeable or do I need to make another trip to the dealer. I could not find the No. in the Operator's Manual. Thanks.

From what I could find, the oil filter might be #SBA140517020. But the number you have I don't think is the HST filter either. Your number is an oil filter for a TC33.

86546618 is the engine oil filter I use on my TC29D. I think there are actually a couple of different numbers that will work. This is the larger, earlier, cheaper of the two.

Steve, here is a list of all the filter numbers for the TC40D and 45D. The original numbers are in black with superceding numbers in blue. Note that the engine oil filter is the same number you got. Also, the HST filter and hydraulic filter are grey in color and don't have any number on them. The engine oil filter is white with the correct number stamped on the case.

One month ago I did a full filter change....my hydros were black as was the engine oil filter....My earlier hydros were gray, but the engine oil filter was always black.

I guess its just a matter of what color the particular contract was for when the stock was ordered. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

That's very interesting....hmm. Every engine oil filter I've purchased has been white and I noticed that the other filters were grey despite the change to the new black running gear. I just wonder if the filters are manufactured regionally and have a variance in color because of that? I know it's not that my dealer has a large stock backlog, because he was out and recently got in a new large shipment. The new filters were grey. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Last month at my 300hour service, all my filters were black. I'm sure it is a supplier issue.

The black engine oil filter is part number sba140517020 This is a smaller filter and more expensive than the 86546618 either filter will work fine. The 86546618 is the less expensive of the 2. The 86546618 will not work on a TC35 because the engine is 3 cylinder and the filter is too big around to fit in beside the block this is why we have the other slimmer filter mentioned above.
