I am getting more confused the more I read up unfortunately. I have done way too much research to try and figure out what Engine Oil to use. I just looked up the part numbers in my manual for the recommended AMBRA oils and half of them say they are for gasoline engines... it doesnt make sense.

I was just looking for someone to give me the ok to use any diesel 5w30 oil but it doesn't look like I am getting that kind of advice... I dont think.

Some guys say I will be fine with a 10w-30 and others say i need to check my engine specs to find what I can use... I am no mechanic and know very little about the fluids and it doesnt look like my research is helping that much

...can it really be that hard. I have a hard time believing that I cant just go grab a gallon of Diesel Rated 5w30 or 10w30 and use it over the winter without issue.....

Bottom line, read K7LN's most recent post and go with that. 0w30 CJ4 or CK4.
You are somewhat over thinking the viscosity rating. You can in fact use a 5w30 or 10w30. In cold climates the 0w30 is just a better (but not necessary) choice.

If you really want to have some fun, start researching antifreeze. :confused2:

Or hydraulic oil.. each manufacture specs out there own specific oil. Also there is no standard like API for engine oil. So a 032 could be totaly different than another 032.

Two good answers above. Don't make it so hard.

Just pick a weight that is convenient to obtain and that is diesel rated.

"Synthetic or non synthetic.. any preferences?" Your choice as they both will do the job.

I've used synthetic Rotella T6 5W-40 for years in everything I own.

It meets all specs unless you want to go with a 0W-xx weight.

Nasonjo, you had all your answers in this earlier reply from K7LN. Don't overthink this. Changing the oil and filter as needed will be as or more important that the flavor you choose.

Yeah, I was overthinking because I’m used to a vehicle oil change where they just give you the grade and there seems to be a lot of gray area in the learning curve when it comes to tractor maintenance and finding the proper oils and lubes

I just used a 10w30 HDEO in my NH TC33DA, year round. Can't speak to the 25, but 10w30 is allowed in the manual for the 33. Not sure why it wouldn't also be allowed for the 25. Even all the heavy diesels up thru 15L are spec'ing and factory filling with 10w30 for year round use. I also had a oil pan warmer on the sump and could plug in if I was going to need to start in cold weather. Between the block heater and the oil pan warmer, tractor started at -20F as if it was 70F outside. Instant warm oil flow.

I would hope it would start that easy with two heaters going. That dosnt really say anything about the oil though.

What would it need to say about the oil? If the sump/oil pan warmer was plugged in, then the oil would be a toasty 100F and ready to rock and roll right from the start. cold flow issues eliminated entirely. And once the engine is running, the cold weather is not an issue regarding the oil. In that scenario, heck... use a 15w40 even when the outside temp is -40F. The oil is already flowing at the start like a hot summer day. But I would still use a 10w30 for numerous reasons. I have grown fond of the 30 weight HDEO's
