Engine oil

I pulled the engine oil drain plug and nothing came out. The dipstick shows more than enough oil in the engine, yet it won't drain. Any suggestions on how to get it to drain?

Poke something into the drain hole and see if there is a clog?

Did you really pull the drain plug, or a pan bolt?

If it's some kind of crud or blockage you may wish to pull the oil pan and clean it out.

As other have stated also remove dip stick.

Ya right. Is this tractor new to you? What’s the oil change history? Maybe you’ve turned the wrong bolt? If the oil wouldn’t flow then it wouldn’t lubricate either…. Or You’re pulling our legs

I hope Mr Felix returns with something more about his mysterious oil drain problem.

This is why new members should be required to make at least 12 to 15 contributory posts to existing threads, before being permitted to start a thread, and 25 or more before being permitted to post For Sale in the classifieds.

There are other various forums out there with similar, if not even more stringent, rules. It works, costs nothing, and keeps a lot of pot-stirring thread starters off the forum.

Might be a good idea. True storey, I had a buddy call me asking why his oil was way overfilled after he changed the oil in his truck many years ago. Turned out he drained the front axle, changed the oil filter and then added the appropriate amount of engine oil on top of the old oil…oopsy
