Besides the obvious stuff, like lack of rops and no water pump ( on some models ) what are the differences in the us to grey yanmars?
Model numbers on us arn't specifically horsepower.... no pto shield?... no foot throttle?

Any difference on the gauges? The grey's I've seen don't have a fuel gauge..
Others?

Are there any engine or tranny differences? ( desides the water pump )
Emisions differences?
Are the us models any wider than a similar grey model?

thanks

My YM2000B, (later model gray), has a foot throttle, full set of gages, (and a water pump).

PS...Does anybody know the diff. between "gray" and "grey"?
........."grey" is the British spelling, according to my Funk & Wagnalls dictionary.

Yep.. when I wrote the post I added that part about 'some models' because from discussion i knew the 2000's had a pump.
I wasn't aware of the foot throttle.. but now that you mention it.. I think a neighbors 1300 has one as well.

Gauges? nice... must be the bigger more expensive units had the 'options'.
Perhaps the thermosiphon didn't work well in the larger units.

thanks,

chris

Chris, I don't know if the "B" designation came out in models other than the 2000, but that is when the guages and bigger side panels came out. Also I heard some models came from the factory with a wooden stick they carried in the toolbox to wedge the clutch pedal down for storage, This one and, I guess, several others came with a built-in latch for that purpose as in the attached pic.

I have a 2310 which is very similar to a 276, it has a temp and fuel guage, foot throttle and the same clutch gadget that norm showed the pic of. I was wondering what that sticker referred to and now I know, thanks norm. My brother has a 1300 which is the same as a 155, we both noticed similar differences, throttle lever direction, pto speeds but the tractors are almost the same (2310-276 1300-155)

Clif, it was kind of ironic about that sticker. I showed the tractor to my cousin's wife, who is Japanese and a parttime translator/interpreter. She, who has never been around tractors, started reading the sticker. "Depress clutch pedal, lift latch and hook over pedal to retain in down position." I had not noticed the sticker before, but, that's what it says.

I noticed the sticker but because of all the stickers that are all over the tractor I didn't connect it with the clutch. I just found a new sticker on the underside of the hood but it is in japanese, so I'm clueless as usual.
