engine replacement Kubota B7000

In mindanao island, Philippines where i live tractor parts for the kubota series B7000 is difficult to source. Am thinking of just totally replacing the engine, and somewhere i heard of a B7000 with a Briggs and Stratton engine , could someone enlighten me further as to how this could be mated to the existing drives? Or any other posibility of an alternate engine as replacement? thanks

I wouldn't think it'd be too hard,,the engine on HST tractor just drives the pump, and the pump does the rest, I had a cub 26 HP diesel HST, and the engine had a plate with a spline in the center attached to the fly wheel and the drive shaft attached to that, and that drive shaft went to drive the hydrostatic pump. So in theory you could hook up a squirrel cage if you thought it'd turn enough RPMs

Reason for lack of parts more likely to do with B7000 age than your location. Have no personal experience w/7000, but pics/specs tells me very similar to B6000...which I did own. Many non-engine parts should swap. Unfortunately, engine different. 6000's ZL600 engine was used for other applications. Don't know if engine will fit, but 6000s are as rare as 7000s.

As for non-Kubota swap...anything can be done...in this case, would have to adapt to bell housing and trans input shaft (pilot bearing). On 6000, front frame attaches to engine as well...a lot to consider. I'd need to see the one you heard about...

You haven't said what's wrong with engine, but my inclination would be to rebuild it, using the internet to find new/used/rebuilt parts. Vintage Kubota engines are robust and rebuildable. A good machine shop can do wonders, and the internet lets you search the entire world for parts. Good luck...
