Good day,
I would like to know how much engine RPM I need to set on my YM1510D when working with 540 RPM on the PTO? ( don稚 have the manual yet) Can someone tell me?
Thank you very much in advance.

It's not critical, but on smaller machines it's usually just about at MAX engine RPM. I guess a little is left for overhead.

Most are marked on the tach.

On my Kioti I have 'E 540' just under 2k rpm and '540' at about 2600.

I'm assuming that's the same 540 rpm at the output shaft to the implement...but have no real idea ohter than of course, lower revs uses less fuel.

Little tractors are known for resonance and vibration. Sometimes it's more important to pick a speed that runs the smoothest, in that neigborhood of course.

For the similar US model YM186D: the original showroom brochure says PTO rpm 540 @ 2400 engine rpm.

And credit to the original posters. My notes say:
International284's Photobucket_files ref from TBN, spring 2011.

Originally from rScotty who sent them to I-284.
Thanks, International and rScotty!

On the 4010 (like a JD 2019E in today's nomenclature), it was about 3,100-3,200 rpm to get 540 rpm on the PTO, and I ran it at that speed because I needed the full 18.5 hp from the engine.

On both the 1025R and 2025R with near 25 hp, I do not need the full hp of those engines. Therefore, I ran/run them at about 2,500 rpm vs. about 3,100 for 540 PTO.

On my M6040, the owners manual says - 2160 engine rpm = 540 pto rpm. When I engage the pto, the dash reads out the pto rpm. I often run the engine at 1800 to 1900 rpm. I chip only green pine trees - 6" diameter at the base, or less. Only slightly harder than month old Twinkies.
