This is rather old news, and it doesn't seem much has come of this. The original patent for the welding system was granted in 2004.

X2. The problem with hydrogen is it's usually found in its "burned' or oxidized state as water (H20). Oxidizing is usually an exothermic reaction so heat is released. To reverse the reaction you have to add energy, just so you can re-oxidize it again (burning HHO or any H2 lash-up). the 2nd law of thermodynamics (basically there's no such thing as a free lunch) says that will be a net loss.
The good news about hydrogen is it's extremely clean burning, thus the interest as an alternative fuel for automobiles and such. But until we have a way to produce hydrogen without a net energy loss it's a bad idea, especially since the way you make hydrogen today is with electricity and most electricity in this country comes from burning coal. So we're making the air dirty in order to make it clean:confused2:
That welder could be slick to have a cutting torch without tanks but a plasma cutter does something similar with perhaps more power and control.

I am constantly amazed by this, how those MORONS in the news business, whose jobs are to be investigative reporters, just buy into any scam that comes along, and never do a bit of investigating or reporting. They just sit there in their studio seats and look all excited and smiley. And tout the virtues of every charlatan that comes along. Lets see, "browns gas" or oxyhydrogen was first made around 1800, and was used in welding over a century ago, great technology, but as others have pointed out, it takes more energy to make it than burning it produces. But dont let that keep us from "believing" we all know that the oil companies will buy out any patents to keep this "wonderful" "new" technology from coming to the market to save us:laughing: PT Barnum said it best "there is a sucker born every minute" no truer words were ever spoken.
