engine specs and info on the 57 john deere 420

hi i'm new to the forum. i need the engine spec and cylinder bore tolerances for the jd 420. the tractor has a knock and i've pin pointed the problem to the cylinder pin bushing and connecting rod bearing . i'm hoping i don't also have to bore out the cylinder if i dont have to.

the JD web site has the parts book for free.
The nice folks at 1-800-522-7448 have the real JD service and operators manuals on CD or hard copy. In IT manual is best rolled up and used to swat flies.
make sure the oil passage to the valve train isn't blocked when re-assembling. This would be the time to install a new bushing in the distributor and ensure the advance weights work freely. Over advanced timing will pound wrist pins, rings, rods and rod bearings to bits.
