Engine stops on 1533

Today I was working my 1575 backhoe (1533)tractor 200hrs. Removing two rather large spruce stumps close together it was necessary to work the machine kinda hard but all of a sudden it just quit. I simply restarted it but 2 mins. later it stalled again. Then it wouldn't run at all so I let it cool down for about an hour and a half at which point I was able to get it back to the shed about 200 yards away. It seems to run fine now.

Does anyone know if perhaps there is some kind of a safety shut down on this machine for the hydraulics?. Temperature activated perhaps?. The fluid level was good and I keep the revs. at about 1600 while running the hoe. Any other ideas?, fuel or injectors. etc..

Intermittent safety switch under the seat?

There is no temperature related safety switch - only safety start switches on range shuttle lever, seat and PTO. If tractor died instantly these would be a good palce to start looking.

I've managed to determine that the neutral position on the range selector (hydrostatic) has become faulty and acting as though the tractor were in gear with no weight on the seat, it shuts the machine down. There are two neutral positions on my selector and the rearward one works fine. I'm thinking that something is loose somewhere that causes the forward one to engage the shutdown., Now what to do about it is the question. Thanks for your answers.

Check for loose connections at the switch/sensor. I had my temperature sending unit loosen while using the chipper. Startled me for a moment when I saw the needle not in the operating range.

On my 1528, I had the safety on the range selector move just slightly from a stick falling though the slot, and moved it, I losened the 10MM nut repositioned the safety and tightened it down, never had another problem.
